Collection: The Vishivanka
This boot is an homage to Mikhail’s Ukrainian roots. The inlays are traditional embroidery, hand stitched by Dasha who lives in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine. The patterns differ by region, and many have symbolism and meaning, often used to decorate traditional shirts called Vishivanki. This particular pattern is from the Hutsul people of western Ukraine, and it is unique because instead of a typical cross stitch, this pattern is created using a series of vertical stitches. In an age where traditional ethnic attire has been replaced by the same blue jeans and suits, we've infused a little bit of tradition and culture into the modern look.
